Thinking ahead

Am I just naïve? It seems to me that Republicans are just mean people who hate the middle class and the poor. The Democrats are kindhearted and want a better world but are so wishy-washy that nothing positive can happen. People who recognize these trends give up and go Independent and lose any power base that could make change happen. What am I missing? Pundits claim the various economic and social concerns are so complex that either side is right -- and wrong. What I predict will happen in the 2012 elections is that the mean old Republicans will win because the Independent party is not established enough to counter balance either side.

The Occupy Wall Street movement is gaining in all directions: media attention, organization, and strength. Will this be a force for change? If yet a new party is formed out of this, will the Independent’s join? We don’t have a lot of time till November 2012. Images that are going viral speak to the hearts and minds of the fabric of America. We are good people and deserve the American Dream as much as the wealthiest elite. We are intelligent and are not falling for the schemes and manipulations of financiers who try to pat our heads and say “Don’t worry, this won’t hurt a bit,” while they steal our life’s savings.

How do good intelligent people let this chaos happen? I was really worried about the disease of apathy until OWS started. Now I am gaining hope that lives will improve out of the hard work and dedication of the brave protesters. I do everything short of showing up at the parks to support the cause. I post and repost on Facebook, and hope it helps. Should I do more? Probably. But I have faith that we are a nation that is waking up out of a bad dream, rubbing our eyes and setting our sights to put things right.
